Malaysia & Singapore

Rickshaw, Penang, Malaysia

I just love Malaysia. So much so that I took two separate trips there in the span of two months in fall 2008. Altogether, I explored Kuala Lumpur (briefly), Kota Bharu, the Perhentian Islands (bea-u-u-utiful), Penang and Malacca. Singapore, down on the tip of the Malaysian peninsula, is perhaps not quite as exciting.

The melange of three cultures — Chinese, Indian and Malay — makes Malaysia a fascinating place to visit, and a delicious place to eat. I strongly suggest using EatingAsia‘s food recommendations during your itinerary planning — her suggestions never failed us (especially “bacon candy”, which was so good we went twice).
