5 Signs That You’re On Vacation

by Jessica Marsden on July 29, 2010

I’ve done a lot of travel (really an insane amount, for someone who has technically been employed full-time) over the past two years, but very little of it has felt like “vacation.” This week, that dry spell ended.

5 Signs that You’re Really, Truly on Vacation

  1. You didn’t bring a guidebook, and the only research you’ve done is about where to find the best local lobster rolls.
  2. Your insight-of-the-week is that when it comes to spray-on sunscreen, you should pay $3 extra for the brand name.

Insight #2: I should spend more days like this.

  3. You’re devouring the Stieg Larsson trilogy instead of reading some tome about the place you’re visiting.
  4. You’re wearing the same clothes over and over, not because you haven’t had a chance to do laundry but because you spend 80% of waking hours in your swimsuit.
  5. It’s almost impossible to think of something to write about for your China travel blog.

I’ll be back next week with more stories and advice for Asia-bound travelers. Till then, check out some of these great bloggers who are still on the road.
