Coffee in the Jelly, Jelly in Your Coffee

by Jessica Marsden on June 22, 2009

Starbucks stores in Beijing are taking on the local milk tea market this summer. In addition to black tapioca balls, many Chinese milk tea vendors put sweet flavored jellies in the bottom of their drinks for an added dose of texture and flavor. Now, the coffee chain is offering its own variation on the jelly-drink combo:

Starbucks Coffee Jelly

According to this ad, spotted at the Starbucks at Houhai, you can now get your iced coffee or frappuccino with an extra dose of “coffee jelly” at the bottom of the cup.

So far, I haven’t seen ads for “Coffee in the Jelly, Jelly in Your Coffee” at Starbucks locations in the U.S. Sadly.
