“The Heat Seeker”

by Jessica Marsden on May 14, 2009

I’m following with interest the pursuits of Alison Stein Wellner, self-proclaimed Heat Seeker, as she tries to find the hottest food in the world. So far, Frankfurt (not my first thought when it comes to spicy food, but apparently there is such thing as the “currywurst”) and India have yet to truly test her spice-tolerance. Perhaps Hunan Wildfire* is in her future?

*This is why I need to create a Changsha page for the site, ASAP. Hunan Wildfire, around the corner from Jiefang Lu, is one of our favorite haunts for super-spicy Hunan cuisine. Hugh and Carol’s blog post on the subject only hints at the spiciness that awaits you there.
